To obtain Iran tourist Visa, visitors to Iran must know the followings:
1- All visitors to Iran must hold a passport or travel document valid for 6 months at the time of departure.
To apply for all types of electronic visas, your passport should have at least six months of validity, beyond your actual travel date. Obviously, you are not able to submit your application, if your passport is expiring in less than 6 months.
2- Authorization code/ or reference number.
You will need a reference number as a letter of invitation:To get a reference number you will need to contact a travel agency in Iran and fill out an application form and wait for about 7 to 10 working days (for some nationals it may take a few days more longer) to get your reference number, then you need to get this reference number to the Iranian Embassy or consulate where you selected in your application form so as to receive your Iran visa.
3- Scanned copy of first page of your passport in jpeg format.
It must be sent to your travel agency for processing your Iran Visa
4- Filled-out
You must fill out an application form which you can obtain from travel agency that has undertaken to obtain your Iran visa and send it to your selected travel agency for processing your Iran visa.
5- 2-4 visa/passport size photos (not smaller than 1”x1.5” or 2.5cm x 3.8cm)
6- Iran Visa Stamp Fee (Payable to the consulate on visa collection)
At the time of visa collection (In your nominated Iranian embassy or Iran International Airports) applicants are required to consider a fee for related consular visa collection and paperwork. These fees are separate of visa application fee to be paid to the Travel Agency. The visa fee depends on nationality varies from 30 Euro to 75 Euro.
7- Refer to the Iranian consulate or embassy where you have specified in applicatin form and collect your Iran visa:
When applying for the authorization code, you will need to specify in your application form which Iranian embassy or consulate your visa to be processed.Once the code is granted, you cannot change the embassy choice. It’s wise to choose an embassy in a city from which you are likely to fly to Iran.
8. Health Insurance Fee
Please prepare 12.00 euro for compulsory health insurance fee at Iran Airports. Please always remember bring enough cash for your whole purchase in iran trip. Credit cards are not operative and they cannot be chashed inside Iran.
Iran Visa on Arrival
List of needed documents for Iran Visa on Arrival:
1- A valid passport with at least six months validity
2- A confirmed return ticket
3- A photo to be attached to the Iran visa application form
4- Visa stamp fee, which is payable to the Iran Visa & Passport Office at the airport. Iran airport visa fee varies depends on the applicant’s nationality.
5- An invitation letter or hotel reservation voucher. The invitation letter has to be sent from the Iranian travel agency to Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs at least 48 hours before your arrival to Iran airport.

Iran Visa for American, British and Canadian Nationals:
American, British and Canadian nationals need to travel with a guide while visiting Iran and they must plan and coordinate their itinerary with tour operators.
Just as nationals from most other countries, British, Canadian and American citizens are most welcome to visit Iran. The only point to consider is that they must be accompanied by a tour guide and should have a pre-designed itinerary which they should follow precisely during the trip.
American, British and Canadian nationals must follow these steps for obtaining your Iran visa:
1- Find valid Travel agency in Iran for applying their Iran visa.
2- Choose final itinerary for your trip to Iran that based on your final time and cities in Iran with information of your travel guide that will stay with you during your Iran tour.
3 -Send passport copy in jpeg format that has at least 6 months validity.
4- Fill out an application form which submitted to you by your travel agency.
-The travel agency applies for your visa from Iranian MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) which is located in Tehran.
